The Uprising, the third installment in the Wives on Strike franchise, which originally debuted in 2016, has grossed ₦110 million just three weeks after its cinema release on October 17, 2024.

Distributed by Nile Entertainment, the film earned a remarkable ₦10 million within the first two days of its release. During its second weekend, it grossed ₦40 million.

Thanks to the pre-sale voucher system introduced before the premiere, The Uprising: Wives on Strike 3 has continued to draw a large audience. It is now the highest-grossing installment in the Wives on Strike series.

This installment combines humor with social justice themes, exploring deeper and more intense territory. It follows the gripping tale of a mother’s determined quest to rescue her kidnapped son.

The film showcases Nollywood stars such as Ufuoma McDermott, Chioma Akpotha, Hilda Dokubo, Uche Jombo, Tomiwa Wategbe, Segun Arinze, Kalu Ikeagwu, Julius Agwu, Bukunmi “Kiekie” Adeaga, and Okey Bakassi.
