The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has confirmed the death of three people in an accident involving a Dangote truck with the registration number DCG-TM-028 and other vehicles.
According to a reporter, the incident occurred when the Dangote truck’s brakes failed while it was descending from Ita-Opo, Epe.
LASTMA’s General Manager, Olalekan Bakare-Oki, confirmed the accident in a statement released on Monday by Taofiq Adebayo, the Director of Public Affairs and Enlightenment at LASTMA.
Bakare-Oki explained that the truck, after losing control, struck a tricycle with the registration number AGL 442 QC and a parked Toyota Camry near the Ayeyoro traffic light before crashing into the Ayetoro Market Complex in Epe.
“This tragic accident led to the deaths of the tricycle driver and two students from Manpower Technical School. Their bodies were respectfully moved to the mortuary at Epe General Hospital,” he stated.
