2027 Presidency: APC Addresses Jonathan’s Campaign Posters Appearing in Kano Streets

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has denied any connection to Team New Nigeria (TNN), the organization behind the widespread display of campaign posters for former President Goodluck Jonathan in Kano ahead of the 2027 elections.

The ruling party emphasized that TNN is not part of its structure at any level. This development follows TNN’s recent announcement of its departure from the APC, with plans to establish a new political party.

TNN’s National President, Modibbo Farakwai, stated that their goal is to mobilize 26 million voters across the country.

On Thursday, December 5, the situation escalated when Jonathan’s campaign posters appeared throughout Kano, sparking discussions about the former president’s political prospects.

In response, APC Deputy National Organising Secretary Nze Chidi Duru dismissed the group, calling them irrelevant to the ruling party.

He stated, “It is a group I view as undefined and not recognized by the APC.”

Duru further explained, “If they were truly members of the APC, they would know that former President Goodluck Jonathan is not part of our party.”

The APC also condemned the group for distributing campaign materials associated with a non-member, arguing that this only reinforced doubts about TNN’s lack of alignment with the party’s ideology and structure.

Former President Goodluck Jonathan has not yet responded to the situation, leaving the public to speculate about his potential involvement in the ongoing political developments.
