We Didn’t Attack Army in Imo – Says IPOB

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has refuted allegations by the Nigerian Army that its members recently attacked soldiers stationed at the Aba Branch in Ehime-Mbano, Imo State.

According to IPOB spokesperson Emma Powerful, the accusations are baseless and discredit the military. He emphasized that IPOB’s Eastern Security Network (ESN) does not target Nigerian security forces but focuses on eliminating Fulani terrorists in forests and bushes.

He also questioned the Army’s claim, pointing out that no casualties were reported on either side, suggesting the allegations were an attempt to tarnish IPOB’s image.

According to IPOB spokesman Emma Powerful, the Nigerian Army has taken over attempts to discredit IPOB and its Eastern Security Network (ESN) after the Nigeria Police’s efforts to demonize the group failed.

He claims the military has shifted its focus from combating terrorists and bandits in the North to launching propaganda campaigns against IPOB and ESN.

Powerful urged the public to dismiss the military’s false narratives, asserting that ESN operatives do not engage in criminal activities or attacks on the Army, and none of their members were killed in the recent incident in Imo State.

He reiterated IPOB’s commitment to protecting their land from Fulani terrorists and accused the Army of trying to distract them with baseless accusations.
