I Have no Regret for Working Against PDP in 2023 – Says Wike

0

On Tuesday, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, stated that he has no regrets for opposing the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) presidential bid in 2023.

Wike explained that his opposition was due to the party’s abandonment of fairness, equity, and justice.

The former governor of Rivers State mentioned that while he supported the PDP at the state level, he chose not to back the party in the presidential election.

Featuring on Channels TV’s Politics on Tuesday, Nyesom Wike clarified that the removed chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, Tony Okocha, was not him man.

He stated: “Tony Okocha, not my man. They opposed me during the governorship election. Just because he’s my friend doesn’t mean I brought him into the APC.”

Wike further explained, “In the presidential election, I committed to supporting equity, fairness, and justice, but in the other elections, I backed my party. That’s why we won the governorship and National Assembly races.”

I have no regrets about opposing the PDP in the presidential election because I stand against injustice and exclusion. I made it clear that I wouldn’t support unfairness, and I owe no one an apology for that.
