The Police Service Commission has sanctioned 18 senior officers with dismissal and demoted 19 others for various acts of misconduct.
This was revealed by the PSC’s Head of Press and Public Relations, Ikechukwu Ani, in a statement issued today in Abuja.
The statement revealed that during a plenary meeting in Abuja, the Police Service Commission addressed 109 pending disciplinary cases, 23 appeals and petitions, and 13 court rulings requiring compliance.
“Following a thorough review of the disciplinary matters, the Commission approved the dismissal of 19 senior police officers.
The officers include 10 Assistant Superintendents, six Deputy Superintendents, two Chief Superintendents, and one Superintendent,” the statement added.
The Commission also authorized the demotion of 19 senior police officers, including one Assistant Commissioner of Police, one Chief Superintendent, two Superintendents, two Deputy Superintendents, and 13 Assistant Superintendents.
