According to reports from a reporter, Nigerian Army personnel are currently engaged in an intense gunfight with bandits led by the notorious Bello Turji.

The clash between Nigerian troops and Turji’s group is said to be unfolding in the Sabon Birni region of Sokoto State.

Speaking to reporter yesterday 13/11/24, senior consultant and public affairs analyst Abdulsalam Suleiman Izuagbe revealed that commuters are now unable to travel between Shinkafi and Sabon Birni.

Izuagbe stated, “There is an active conflict in Sabon Birni; Bello Turji and the Nigerian Army are currently engaged in gunfire.

“They are exchanging fire in the Sabon Birni area. Right now, it’s unsafe for anyone to travel from Shinkafi to Sabon Birni. Assuming it’s business as usual is completely missing the point.”

As of the time of this report, ASP Sanusi Abubakar, spokesperson for the Sokoto State Police Command, had not responded to calls or messages sent to his phone.
