The Court of Appeal in Lagos has overturned the rape conviction of Femi Olaleye, the Managing Director of Optimal Cancer Care Foundation.
Today, the appellate court ruled that the lower court made an error in its judgment.
As a result, Olaleye was discharged and acquitted.
It is worth remembering that in October 2023, the Special Offences and Domestic Violence Court in Lagos had convicted Olaleye on charges of child defilement and sexual assault by penetration.
After his conviction, Justice Rahman Oshodi sentenced Olaleye to life in prison.
