American singer and actress Jennifer Lopez has spoken about her turbulent second breakup with her ex-husband, Ben Affleck.
The 55-year-old singer recently filed for divorce after two years of marriage, marking their second attempt to reconcile after initially splitting in 2004.
The couple separated in April, and Lopez filed for divorce on August 20, which coincidentally marked their two-year wedding anniversary. In the latest edition of Interview Magazine, Lopez shared that the divorce nearly “broke” her, though she has no regrets about marrying Affleck.
She expressed having no regrets, saying, “Not for a single second. That doesn’t mean it didn’t nearly destroy me—it almost did.
But now, looking back, I think, ‘Wow, that was exactly what I needed. Thank you, God. I’m sorry it took me so long to realize. I’m sorry you had to put me through this so many times.'”
I should have learned the lesson two or three times earlier. I understand now. You had to hit me really hard, like with a sledgehammer. You practically dropped a house on me. But trust me, you don’t need to do it again.”
