A well known Nigerian rapper and activist, Folarin Falana, widely known as Falz, said that Bobrisky reached out to him for financial assistance while in prison.

According to report, Bobrisky was sentenced to three months in jail after admitting guilt to naira mutilation following his arrest by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). He was released on August 5th, 2024.

On Tuesday, September 24th, 2024, popular self-proclaimed activist and social critic Martins Otse, known as VeryDarkMan, leaked an alleged voice recording of Bobrisky.

In the controversial audio, Bobrisky claimed that a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) and his son, Falz, helped him get the EFCC to drop money laundering charges while he was in prison.

In response to the backlash, Falz, through his legal team at Falana & Falana’s Chambers, denied having any communication with Bobrisky during his time in prison.

Falz clarified that Bobrisky only reached out to him for financial help, requesting N3 million to pay officials for permission to stay in the VIP section of the Correctional Centre.

In a letter now circulating widely on social media, Falz also accused VeryDarkMan of recklessly publishing a statement with several allegations against his person without seeking his side of the story.
