Chelsea are reportedly eager to sign Victor Osimhen during the January transfer window after failing to secure his transfer from Napoli over the summer, despite extended negotiations.
The Nigerian striker ended up joining Galatasaray on a season-long loan.
According to Onokala Onyebuchi from Wazobia FM, who has close ties to the player, Chelsea is keen to finalize a deal for Osimhen during the winter transfer window.
Onyebuchi tweeted on Sunday, stating that Chelsea sought a pre-agreement with Osimhen for January 2025, but it was rejected before he moved to Galatasaray.
He added that Chelsea has been in contact with Napoli to arrange a deal for January and is prepared to meet Osimhen’s wage demands.
However, he emphasized that this is unlikely, as Osimhen will remain with Galatasaray for the whole season.
