EPL: Amorim Faces a Major Challenge Defeat Man Utd and Closes the gap on Liverpool

0

The stage is set for the biggest Premier League clash of the mid-week, with Arsenal hosting Manchester United at the Emirates Stadium.

The match is scheduled for Wednesday night, with a kick-off at 9:15 pm.

Both teams come into the game following victories in their previous Premier League matches against West Ham United and Everton, respectively.

Arsenal triumphed 5-2 over West Ham at the London Stadium last weekend, while Manchester United trashed Everton 4-0 at Old Trafford.

The last encounter between the two teams was in May, when Arsenal won 1-0 in a Premier League match at Old Trafford.

Arsenal will aim to reduce the nine-point gap to Premier League leaders Liverpool when they host Manchester United tonight.

Manager Mikel Arteta confirmed in his pre-match press conference on Tuesday that he would assess the fitness and availability of players like Thomas Partey, Mikel Merino, Riccardo Calafiori, and Gabriel to determine if they can start against United.

It’s worth noting that Partey and Merino were both unavailable for Arsenal’s win over West Ham last weekend, while Calafiori and Gabriel were substituted during the match.

Manchester United, meanwhile, will look to build on their dominant victory over Everton as they prepare to face Arteta’s side.

Currently in 9th place on the Premier League table with 19 points from 13 matches, United manager Ruben Amorim has urged his players to be ‘brave’ in their upcoming match against Arsenal.

Amorim also confirmed in his pre-match press conference that Leny Yoro and Bruno Fernandes are fit to play against Arsenal.

Since taking over at Manchester United last month, the Portuguese manager has remained unbeaten, with two wins and one draw from his three matches in charge across all competitions.

However, today’s game against Arsenal poses a significant challenge for Amorim as he looks to maintain his undefeated record as United’s manager.

A victory over Arsenal would see United rise from their current 9th position in the league standings.
