The late Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Taoreed Lagbaja, has been interred at the National Cemetery in Abuja, concluding a distinguished military career spanning many years.

His burial, filled with emotions and heartfelt eulogies, came after two days of funeral rites that began earlier in the week in Lagos.

His body were laid to rest at 4:41 pm following a ceremony that lasted over two hours.

The casket, adorned with Nigeria’s green and white colors, was brought to the cemetery around 3 pm in a white funeral wagon after a service held at the National Christian Centre in Abuja.

Before the late Chief of Army Staff was laid to rest, a service of songs was held the previous day at the Army Headquarters Garrison Parade Ground, Mogadishu Cantonment, Abuja.

On Thursday, a Nigerian Air Force plane carrying Lagbaja’s remains landed at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja at approximately 12:15 pm.
