Edo Election: APC Will Retain Ondo and Unseat APGA in Anambra – Says Ganduje

The national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has disclosed that the party is now targeting Anambra State following its success in the Edo State election.

Ganduje revealed this at the APC national headquarters in Abuja, after Senator Monday Okpebholo’s win in the Edo election.

He stressed the party’s intentions to contest against the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Anambra next year and strengthen its influence in the southeast.

Ganduje highlighted that the APC aims to apply the winning approach used in Edo to achieve victories in the forthcoming Ondo and Anambra gubernatorial elections.

He emphasized that securing a victory in Anambra would benefit the Southeast by aligning it with Imo and Ebonyi, which are already APC-governed, thus addressing the region’s feelings of marginalization.

Ganduje stated, “We have begun formulating strategies to win these states. Anambra will be next year. I’d like to remind you that we have initiated a project called the political de-marginalization of the Southeast geo-political zone.”

This project is also a task that must be accomplished. We will focus on the Southeast, which consists of five states. While we already govern two, that number is too small for a major party like ours. We will target the region and work to win more states in our favor.
