Bandits have once again killed a police officer.

According to the report, the attackers ambushed travelers along the Tsafe-Funtua Road on Thursday, kidnapping several people, including an expatriate and employees of a construction company.

Local residents reported that the heavily armed bandits blocked the Tsafe-Funtua Road at Kwanar Rogo for hours, firing at any passing vehicle.

A survivor, who wished to remain anonymous, recounted his experience, explaining that the bandits set up an ambush and began firing randomly.

A Toyota RAV4 Jeep carrying an expatriate was among the vehicles targeted in the attack, with the expatriate’s police escort being killed instantly.

The expatriate, along with several other travelers, was kidnapped and taken to an unknown location.

According to eyewitnesses, it took nearly two hours for a joint team of security personnel to arrive, clear the road, and restore traffic. The delay provided the bandits with enough time to flee with their captives.

As of the time of this report, the State Police Command has not released an official statement, and attempts to get a response from the police were unsuccessful.
