Why Fuel from Dangote Refinery is ‘Pure White, the Best’ – Says Charly Boy

Charles Oputa, also known as Charly Boy and the convener of the now-defunct OurMumuDonDo advocacy group, shared insights on Thursday regarding why the fuel produced by Dangote’s refinery is pure white in color.

He explained that the fuel is refined from ethanol, which enhances engine efficiency.

Charly Boy noted that ethanol-based fuel contains a significant amount of oxygen, reducing carbon buildup in engines.

Maverick entertainer Charly Boy stated that fuel refined from ethanol helps reduce air pollution, particularly carbon dioxide emissions.

In a post titled “Why Dangote fuel is white,” he explained: “The reason the PMS is as clear as water is because of ethanol.

Petrol comes in different colors—red means octane was added, green indicates a high octane level, and yellow signifies it’s unleaded.

However, when it’s clear like water, as shown in the video, ethanol was used. Ethanol boosts engine efficiency and power.”

Charly Boy explained that ethanol contains a significant amount of oxygen, which reduces engine carbon buildup and lowers air pollution caused by carbon dioxide. He referred to this as the best form of petrol, congratulating Dangote for it.

Yesterday, Aliko Dangote, founder of the Dangote Group, announced that the refinery is ready to start producing fuel.

While showcasing a sample of the fuel, Dangote mentioned that President Bola Tinubu and the Federal Executive Council (FEC) would determine the pricing of petroleum products from the refinery.
