Idris Okuneye, widely known as Bobrisky, has refuted allegations of bribing officials from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
On Tuesday night, well known influencer Martins Vincent Otse, also called VeryDarkMan, shared an audio recording allegedly of Bobrisky, claiming he had bribed EFCC officials with N15 million.
In the recording, Bobrisky allegedly d that the N15 million bribe was intended to persuade EFCC officials to dismiss the money laundering charges against him.
He also claimed that, despite his conviction and six-month prison sentence, he never spent a day behind bars.
In April 2024, Bobrisky was sentenced to six months in prison for naira mutilation.
However, in the recording, he mentioned that his godfather arranged for him to serve his sentence in a lodge rather than in jail.
In response, the crossdresser dismissed the viral recording as false, stating that he did, in fact, serve his prison sentence.
In an Instagram post, Bobrisky said: “I am aware of a false voice recording circulating online claiming I paid EFCC 15 million naira and never went to prison.
I did not pay any money to the EFCC; it’s a complete lie. I fully served my sentence and was released. Please disregard any false information.”
