D’banj, Yemi Alade, and Olamide set to Perform at the Opening Ceremony of the African Military Games

The group of Nigerian artists, D’banj, Olamide, Yemi Alade, and Timi Dakolo, will take the stage at the opening ceremony of the 2024 African Military Games in Abuja today.

On X, the Nigerian Army announced, “The stage is ready, and the legends are arriving for the #AMGA2024 opening ceremony.

Watch @Olamide, @iamdbanj, @yemialadee, and @timidakolo bring an unforgettable performance to light up the event. It’s happening tomorrow!”

The 2nd African Military Games (AMGA 2024) will feature participants from 25 countries. Athletes will compete in 19 sports, with most events held at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, except for obstacle crossing and shooting.

The 2024 African Military Games are organized by the Organization of Military Sports in Africa (OSMA) in collaboration with the International Military Sports Council (CISM).

D’banj took the stage at the closing ceremony of the 2013 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in South Africa, where Nigeria’s Super Eagles emerged victorious.

Yemi Alade performed the theme song and appeared at the opening ceremony of the most recent AFCON in Ivory Coast.
