Lionel Messi, Inter Miami forward, has extended his congratulations to all nominees and winners of the 2024 Ballon d’Or.

Messi did not attend Monday’s ceremony, as he was not included in this year’s 30-man shortlist.

However, a few of his Argentina teammates were nominated, with Emiliano Martinez winning the Yachine Award for the second year in a row.

Manchester City’s Rodri claimed the top prize, being named the best player in the world ahead of Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior.

On Instagram, Messi wrote: Congratulations to all the winners and nominated ones for the Ballon d’Or 2024.

“Especially to Dibu, what a great, another award for the best goalkeeper in the world. And to Lautaro, to Scaloni and Garnacho.”

Messi still remains the player with the most Ballon d’Or awards, with a total of 8.
