Nigerian artist Skales has alleged that his former label mate, Wizkid, never had a liking for him.
He revealed that he has always sensed negative energy from the ‘Starboy.’
During a recent episode of the ‘Listen’ podcast, the ‘Shake Body’ singer reflected on his past social media dispute with Wizkid.
He said, “I’ve always felt that Wizkid didn’t like me, though I’m not sure why. There were moments when he openly showed his dislike for me.
“If you look back at our social media fallout, I was having a ‘question-and-answer’ session on Twitter, and someone asked, ‘What’s up with your guy Wiz?’ Jokingly, I responded, ‘My brother Wiz doesn’t have time for me anymore.’ After that, Wizkid started insulting me, my father, and my mother. That showed he probably had me on his mind. He even accused me of wearing fake jewelry. At that time, I wasn’t the one responding; it was my ex-girlfriend.
He said, “I choose my battles carefully. When I know people will believe whatever you say, I don’t feel the need to fight back. Anything I say will be twisted, with people claiming I’m jealous or envious of Wizkid’s success. That was the narrative going around. I recently reflected and thought, ‘This guy [Wizkid] really doesn’t like me.’ I’ve tried to make peace with him, but he refused. He didn’t like me, and I can say that with certainty.”
