Veekee James has never shied away from sharing her inspiring story. The renowned Nigerian fashion designer, whose creations are elevating Nigerian fashion on the global stage, has earned a spot on Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list. Now, she has created a short film titled “From Ajegunle To Forbes,” which chronicles her journey from humble beginnings in Ajegunle to launching her fashion career from her mother’s living room after leaving school.

Motivated by a promise to make her mother proud, Veekee James has soared to new heights. She now designs for celebrities attending a variety of events, from weddings to prestigious award shows. At the recent Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCAs), she crafted stunning looks for style icons such as Osas Ighodaro, Toke Makinwa, Uche Montana, Funke Akindele, and Tomike Adeoye. Remarkably, four of her designs were recognized by BellaNaija Style as part of their “Best Dressed” list.
Veekee James’s talent is gaining international recognition. She was recently featured on CNN’s African Voices Changemakers alongside Andrea Iyama, highlighting them as two Nigerian fashion designers reshaping the global industry from Nigeria.
