Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, has revealed his decision to take an indefinite leave from his official responsibilities.

This was disclosed in a memo submitted to the President’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, on Friday.

In his statement, Ngelale mentioned urgent medical concerns affecting his immediate family as the main reason for his decision.

“This difficult decision was made after extensive discussions with my family in recent days, as a troubling medical condition at home has worsened,” Ngelale stated.

Ngelale’s leave of absence will affect his various roles within the administration.

Along with his role as Presidential Spokesperson, he will also temporarily step down from his responsibilities as Special Presidential Envoy on Climate Action and Chairman of the Presidential Steering Committee on Project Evergreen.

I fully understand that the affairs of the state cannot be put on hold for anyone, but this difficult decision was made after extensive discussions with my family over the past several days,” Ngelale stated.
