The Minister of State for Defence, Alhaji Bello Matawalle, revealed that President Bola Tinubu has directed security agencies to eliminate all forms of insecurity in Nigeria by 2025.
Speaking to a gathering of All Progressives Congress (APC) supporters in Gusau on Saturday, Matawalle emphasized the government’s commitment to equipping security operatives with the necessary resources to carry out their mission promptly and effectively.
“I have visited several countries to procure security equipment, some of which have already been received and deployed to Sokoto,” said Matawalle.
He urged communities to assist security operatives by identifying and reporting informants, whether they reside in the bush or within the community.
“Our commitment is to apprehend all notorious bandits and their accomplices, and intelligence gathering is essential to achieving this goal,” he added.
He praised President Tinubu for initiating the construction of the Zaria-to-Sokoto dual carriageway, highlighting its potential to improve security, transportation, and economic activities in the region.
He also encouraged citizens to pray for the president’s success in leading the country.
