Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has extended his condolences to President Bola Tinubu, Anambra Governor Charles Soludo, and the Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, regarding the stampede incidents in their respective regions
According to a reporter, the stampedes in Abuja and Okija, Anambra, resulted in numerous deaths and injuries.
In a statement issued on Saturday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Gboyega Akosile, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu expressed his condolences to the grieving families.
“I am deeply saddened and extend my heartfelt condolences to Nigerians, especially the residents of Anambra State and Abuja, over the tragic loss of lives during the food distribution at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Maitama, Abuja, and at a community center in Okija, Anambra State.
“On behalf of the Government and people of Lagos State, I offer our sincerest sympathies to all those mourning. We stand in solidarity with them and share their grief during this challenging time.”
“Given the recent stampedes that have resulted in the tragic loss of lives, I urge individuals and organizations to exercise caution in how they conduct their charitable and humanitarian efforts,” the governor stated.
