Governor Sim Fubara of Rivers State is set to Inaugurate in the newly elected local government chairmen today (Sunday).
The ceremony will take place at 4:00 pm in the Executive Council Chambers of the Government House in Port Harcourt, according to a statement released by Tammy Danagogo, the Secretary to the State Government.
The Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) has announced the results of the local government elections, with the Action Peoples Party (APP) securing victories in 22 out of 23 local government areas.
The statement reads: “His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS, Governor of Rivers State, will Inaugurate the newly elected Council Chairmen today, Sunday, October 6, 2024, at the Executive Council Chambers, Government House, Port Harcourt, at 4:00 pm.
The statement also notes that the newly elected Chairmen, along with one guest each, are expected to be seated by 3:30 pm.”
