Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the recent election, has voiced disappointment over President Bola Tinubu’s absence from the country despite the economic and other challenges Nigeria is facing.

Report has it that Tinubu left Nigeria on October 2 for a two-week working vacation in the UK as part of his annual leave.

Recent reports indicate that after spending more than a week in the UK, President Tinubu traveled to Paris, France, where he was scheduled to attend an “important engagement.”

Two weeks after leaving the country, Peter Obi questioned why the president has not returned in a statement on Friday.

“The President said he would be away for only 14 days. Those 14 days have now passed, and we are still waiting for his return.

“Given the significant amount of work needed in a nation facing numerous challenges, one would have expected him to come back sooner than planned.”

He stated, “The severe hardship imposed on our people due to some of his administration’s policies is beyond comprehension, and we urgently need his attention to guide the nation out of the current situation.”
