Nigerian veteran music icon, Onyeka Onwenu, also known as the ‘Elegant Stallion,’ has been laid to rest in Lagos State.
The funeral service for Onwenu took place at the Fountain of Life Church in the Ilupeju area of Lagos, followed by a private burial at a vault in Ikoyi.
Onwenu was a singer, songwriter, actor, journalist, activist, and politician.
The late singer collapsed and passed away on July 30 at Reddington Hospital in Ikeja, shortly after performing at the birthday celebration of Dr. Stella Okoli, Managing Director of Emzor Pharmaceuticals.
Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, was among those who attended Onwenu’s funeral service.
