Nigeria’s National Grid Collapses Again

Once again, Nigeria was plunged into darkness following another collapse of the national grid on Tuesday.

According to the official X account of the National Nigeria Grid, the incident occurred at about 2:09 pm.

Reporter notes that the country’s power grid experienced multiple collapses last month.

In 2024, the national power grid has collapsed at least eight times so far.

Most recently, a grid collapse left nine northern states in darkness once again.

The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company PLC (EEDC) also notified its customers of a “general system collapse” that took place at 1:52 pm on November 5, 2024, leading to the ongoing power outage across the EEDC network.

The notice was signed on Tuesday afternoon by Emeka Ezeh, Head of Corporate Communications at EEDC.

He stated, “As a result of this situation, all our TCN interface stations are without supply, preventing us from serving customers in Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, and Imo States.

“We are on standby, awaiting further information from the National Control Centre (NCC) in Osogbo regarding the collapse and the restoration of supply.”
