Ibraheem Labaeka, a well-known Islamic singer, has stepped down from his role as Special Assistant to Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.

In a letter dated Thursday, September 12, 2024, Labaeka explained his resignation, citing his discomfort with receiving payment without doing anything.

Expressing his dissatisfaction with the role he was given, Labaeka stated that his conscience could not allow him to remain in a position where his contributions were unnecessary.

In a letter now circulating on social media, the singer further explained, “I believe in being purposeful and making an impact in everything I do, but unfortunately, this position did not align with my values.”

While thanking the governor for the opportunity to serve in his administration, Labaeka emphasized, “As my appointment is rooted in public trust, I cannot continue to violate that trust by accepting a salary without contributing.”
