American rapper Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs has been placed under suicide watch at the Metropolitan Detention Centre in New York as a precautionary measure.
According to report, the 54-year-old, who was arrested on Monday, is facing federal charges for sex trafficking and racketeering. On Tuesday, US Magistrate Judge Robyn Tarnofsky ordered that Diddy remain in jail while awaiting trial.
On Friday, Diddy’s lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, informed TMZ that the suicide watch order from MDC officials was a standard procedure for “new, high-profile inmates.”
Agnifilo, who spent six hours with Diddy at the federal facility on Thursday, stated that the rapper is “not suicidal at all” and described him as healthy, strong, confident, and focused on his defense.
The report did not specify how long Diddy would remain on suicide watch.
