A major tech failure has caused global travel chaos, severely impacting banking and healthcare services as well.
Flights were grounded due to the IT outage, with several computers showing blue error screens. This resulted in long queues, delays, and flight cancellations at airports worldwide as passengers had to be checked in manually.
Cybersecurity firm Crowdstrike acknowledged that the issue was caused by an update to its antivirus software, which protects Microsoft Windows devices from malicious attacks.
Microsoft stated it is taking “mitigation action” to address “the lingering impact” of the outage.
