Cabinet Reshuffle: Ministers Discharged and not Sacked — Presidency

The Presidency has clarified President Bola Tinubu’s recent cabinet reshuffle.

Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, explained in an interview with TVC that the ministers were not “sacked” but rather discharged from their duties.

He emphasized that the term “sacked” does not correctly reflect their exit.

He stated, “The ministers were not sacked; they were discharged.” In the cabinet reshuffle, five ministers were relieved of their positions, and seven new appointments were made.

The reshuffle, announced on Wednesday, impacted Uju-Ken Ohanenye (Women Affairs), Lola Ade-John (Tourism), Tahir Mamman (Education), Abdullahi Gwarzo (Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development), and Jamila Ibrahim (Youth Development).
