Singer Damini Ogulu, known as Burna Boy, has surpassed his fellow artist Tems to become the Nigerian artist with the most charting songs in US Billboard Hot 100 history.
He achieved this milestone by breaking his tie with Tems, thanks to the debut of ‘We Pray’ by Coldplay, featuring him, Little Simz, Elyanna, and Tini Stoessel, on the chart this week.
‘We Pray’ entered the Hot 100 at No. 87, bringing Burna Boy’s total number of chart entries to six.
Tems has five entries on the chart, while Wizkid, the first Nigerian artist to debut, has four.
Rema, CKay, Fireboy, Davido, and Lojay each have one entry.
Burna Boy is just one song away from surpassing South Africa’s Seether for the record of the African artist with the most Billboard Hot 100 chart entries ever.
