Another Major South-East Figure Leaves PDP as Former Aviation Minister Resigns From the Party

Osita Chidoka, a key figure of the Democratic Party (PDP) in the South-East, has officially announced his departure from the opposition party.

Chidoka, a former Minister of Aviation and ex-Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), was one of the party’s founding members.

He revealed his decision to resign during an interview on Politics Today on Channels Television, held on Friday, November 29, 2024.

Explaining his move, Chidoka stated that he is stepping away from partisan politics to concentrate on his non-profit organization, the Athena Centre, and collaborate with other Nigerians committed to reforming the country’s political landscape.

“Earlier today, I submitted a formal resignation letter to my ward in Anambra State, officially stepping down as a member of the PDP. I am stepping away from the PDP and taking a break from politics to focus on the Athena Centre,” Chidoka announced during the program.

He further stated, “I will collaborate with fellow Nigerians who are dedicated to reforming the political system, promoting evidence-based governance, and supporting these efforts. As of today, I am no longer a member of the Peoples Democratic Party.”
