Ven David Arinze Ajaefobi, an Anglican priest serving as the Archdeacon of Oyi Central Archdeaconry and Vicar of St. James’ Parish, Awkuzu, has reportedly been abducted.
A source who spoke with a report, unknown individuals allegedly kidnapped the cleric on Saturday night.
According to the source, “The abduction took place around 9:00 PM on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at the entrance gate of St James’ Parish in Awkuzu, located in Oyi Local Government Area, Anambra State.”
At the time this report was filed, the abductors have not contacted the priest’s family to demand ransom or provide a reason for his abduction.
According to a source, the church has organized prayer sessions for his safe return.
When asked to confirm the incident, Anambra State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, stated that the police had not yet received any report on the matter.
