A well-known singer Yemi Alade will be recording and performing the theme song for Lion Forge Entertainment’s upcoming Nigerian superhero animation “Iyanu.”
She disclosed this in a video message shared on the series’ YouTube channel on Saturday. In the message, she said: “Hello, everyone, my name is Yemi Alade. I’ve got fantastic news for you today. I’m excited to share that I’ve been asked to sing the theme song for the amazing animated series ‘Iyanu.’”
“Listen to my song ‘Iyanu’ now. It’s a love message from me to you, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.”
The song is inspired by Nigerian culture and mythology, and it adapts the popular graphic novel Iyanu: Child of Wonder by Nigerian creator and filmmaker Roye Okupe.
This main title theme song is a collaboration among Yemi Alade, Lion Forge Entertainment, Alcon Sleeping Giant, and Femi Agunbiade, the lead composer for the series.
“Iyanu” is planned to debut in the U.S. and across Africa in 2025. In the U.S., viewers can watch it on Cartoon Network and Max, while it will be accessible in 44 African countries through Showmax.
The cast features stars such as Serah Johnson as Iyanu, along with Adesua Etomi-Wellington, Stella Damasus, Blossom Chukwujekwu, and Shaffy Bello.
