American rapper Big Sean has discussed his decision not to marry singer Jhené Aiko after eight years together during an episode of the ‘Out of Context’ podcast with Charlamagne tha God.

Sean explained that he feels there’s still a lot of personal growth needed before he can tie the knot.

He stated, “It’s a little personal, you know what I mean? But just like anyone who has experienced love, we’ve had our challenges…”

I believe we’re still navigating our way through it. To me, marriage represents the ideal relationship. I want to keep our personal matters private, but there’s a lot of work needed.

“Sean and Aiko have had an on-and-off relationship since 2016. When they started dating, Aiko was married to producer Dot da Genius. She filed for divorce in August 2016, citing irreconcilable differences as its reason for separating.”

In November 2022, Sean and Aiko welcomed their son, Noah. Aiko also has a 15-year-old daughter, Namiko, with another singer O’Ryan.

Sean had previously proposed to his former girlfriend, Naya Rivera, in October 2013. Unfortunately, the rapper and Naya, who passed away in 2020, ended their engagement six months later.
