Reno Omokri has explained to Nigerians that in politics, there are no permanent friends or enemies. He explained why he believes Peter Obi will never become President of Nigeria.

He stated that former President Trump has chosen Ohio Senator James David Vance as his running mate. According to him, Senator Vance previously attacked Trump harshly, declaring himself a “never Trump guy,” calling Trump an “idiot,” urging Americans not to vote for him, and labeling Trump “America’s Hitler.”

Yet today, he has been nominated as Trump’s vice-presidential candidate and has publicly accepted the nomination.

I encourage everyone to learn from Trump and Vance’s example. In politics, there are no permanent friends or enemies, only permanent interests.

In his own case, his permanent interest is Nigeria. Between the All Progressives Congress Presidential candidate and his Peoples Democratic Party counterpart, there is little or no difference.

They both promised to remove the fuel subsidy, float the Naira, provide student loans, and advocate for the devolution of powers. Compare their manifestos and tell me what the major difference is. They are similar documents.

Reno stated that he would support President Tinubu’s policies that were also in the Peoples Democratic Party manifesto. I will do so proudly and patriotically. Even Peter Obi was put on the 2019 PDP ticket by the grace of God using my efforts. And he cannot deny it because I am a meticulous record keeper and keep paper records. Peter Obi does not even believe in the official Labour Party manifesto. He is more politically attuned to us in the PDP.

So, develop emotional maturity and learn to navigate politics, or you will always be marginalized if you approach politics emotionally.

During the elections, politicians and their strategists will attick each other. It is all part of the way politics is played. After elections, we move from battleground to common ground.

The only politicians and movements I cannot forgive are the ones who threatened to kill my daughter, came to my house to intimidate me, made false accusations against me, used Arise TV for propaganda against me, and stalked and confronted me on the streets, warning me to leave Peter Obi alone.

There are no permanent friends or enemies in politics. However, when my child was threatened and their leader remained silent after being informed, this created a permanent enmity.

Peter Obi will never become President of Nigeria. We will fight to enable that, even if he returns to the PDP, he will never be on our ticket. However, we are committed to moving forward with one Nigeria.
