Music executive Paulo Okoye has asserted that afrobeats singer Rema charges too much for his performances.
During a conversation with media personality Ifedayo Olarinde, also known as Daddy Freeze, Paulo mentioned that Rema needs to perform more shows and build a larger fanbase to justify his current pricing.
He stated, “Rema is on a different level; he’s a Gen Z superstar and a leading figure in African music. In the Western world, Rema is viewed with the same respect as American artists.”
Paulo Okoye noted that Rema’s current issue is overpricing himself. He believes Rema set his price too high and needs to perform more shows to grow his fanbase and justify his price tag.
Additionally, Paulo stated that both Rema and his colleague Asake have seen a decline in their earnings.
Previously, they earned around $4 million and $5 million, but these amounts have fallen to $2 million and $3 million respectively in 2023 and 2024.
