American television host Oprah Winfrey has dismissed claims that she was paid $1 million to campaign for Kamala Harris, the Democratic candidate in the recent U.S. presidential election.
The Washington Examiner alleged that Winfrey’s company, Harpo Productions, received a payment to organize a celebrity town hall event for Harris in September.
In response, the talk show icon clarified that she did not receive any money to campaign for the Democratic nominee.
“That’s not true. I was never paid anything,” Oprah was quoted by TMZ.
She declined to comment on the election results, in which the Republican nominee, Donald Trump, was elected President.
