Nigerian rapper Oladips has accused Grammy-winning artist Wizkid of stealing his intellectual property.
Oladips claimed that Wizkid used a portion of the lyrics from his song “Ajala Travel Remix” in Wizkid’s recent collaboration with Asake, “MMS.”
He posted screenshots of the lyrics from both songs on his Instagram account.
A fan told him that sampling is “normal,” but Oladips argued that it’s only acceptable when done with permission.
He responded, “It’s normal if you give credit to the source! Don’t act like you don’t know the person while secretly using their lyrics.”
Wizkid has not yet responded to the accusations.
