Singer Burna Boy referred to Nigeria as “collateral damage” following the country’s current situation.

During a recent interview with Tidal, Burna Boy described Nigeria as the British Royal Niger Company.

In a viral video circulating on social media, the singer highlighted that Nigerians are enduring the effects of poor governance and external influences.

Descrbing his views on Nigeria’s origins, Burna Boy stated that the country was never intended to exist.

“We weren’t originally meant to be Nigerians. We were the Royal Niger Company, essentially a business set up by the British to extract resources for Britain.

“At some point, the company decided to purchase the entire territory and merge it.”

“In the end, those who sold the place and those who bought it see themselves as the winners, while everyone else is just collateral damage,” he mentioned.
