Mia le Roux, the winner of Miss South Africa 2024, has withdrawn from the ongoing Miss Universe competition.

According to the reporter, the grand finale of the international event is set to take place on Saturday, November 16, in Mexico.

In a statement released on Friday morning, the Miss South Africa organization attributed her withdrawal to health issues.

I am deeply grateful for the steadfast support I’ve received from South Africa during my journey at Miss Universe. Making this decision was extremely difficult, especially knowing the aspirations and dreams so many have entrusted to me.

“Nonetheless, I am truly thankful for the chance to prioritize my health and recovery, allowing me to continue serving my country at my fullest capacity.”

Le Roux, who made history as the first deaf contestant, was one of 120 beauty queens competing for the Miss Universe title.
