American rapper Meek Mill has made an offer to acquire TikTok amid the app facing a potential ban in the United States.
Recall that in April 2024, President Joe Biden enacted legislation requiring TikTok’s Chinese owner to either sell the platform or cease operations by January 19.
In December, TikTok appealed this law to the US Supreme Court shortly after CEO Shou Zi Chew met with President-elect Donald Trump.
During a press conference, Donald Trump disclosed that he has a “soft spot” for TikTok and stated that his administration would evaluate the app’s future and the potential for a ban.
As ByteDance awaits the Supreme Court’s decision regarding the app’s fate, Meek Mill has announced his interest in purchasing the platform.
“Sell TikTok to me,” he posted on X, adding, “If they cut off TikTok, we’re moving to X and Fanbase.”
