A well-known comedian and skit maker Denilson Igwe has revealed details about his fallout with his colleague and former collaborator, Mark Angel.

In a teaser for the upcoming episode of ‘The Honest Bunch’ podcast, Igwe suggested that he separated from Mark because he discovered that Mark was cheating him and the rest of the crew.

Igwe stated that he initiated Mark Angel Comedy and was responsible for filming the content that Mark posted on Facebook in their early days, but he was not informed when the Facebook page became monetized.

He also alleged that Mark did not give him any money from the monetization proceeds until 2016, when he received N50,000 after Mark had bought a car for himself.

Igwe alleged that Mark was paying one of the top stars of the crew, Emmanuella, N20,000 monthly, while they were unaware that the Facebook page for Mark Angel Comedy was generating $160,000 per month in revenue.

He added, “I was the one who started Mark Angel Comedy. I’m an orphan… Mark was like an older brother to me. He worked as a security guard at Kilimanjaro, GRA, Port Harcourt.”

“I was learning camera work from a man named Ifeanyi and ended up taking one of the cameras. During our free time, we would shoot comic videos.

“Mark then proposed that we create a Facebook page to post our comedy videos, which I agreed to, unaware that it had been monetized.

“I continued filming, and then suddenly in 2014, Mark bought a car. When I asked him how he could afford it, he lied, saying someone had gifted him the car, and I believed him. At that point, I hadn’t received any money from Mark Angel Comedy’s revenue.”

“He began paying Emmanuella N20,000 monthly. Her parents were poor and were unaware of the value of what their daughter was contributing.

“Nobody knew how much revenue it was generating. In 2016, Mark was the first to give me N50,000, claiming that the comedy wasn’t generating any revenue. However, we were actually making $160,000 per month from Mark Angel Comedy’s Facebook revenue at that time.”

Mark Angel has not yet responded to the allegations.
