Nigerian Afrobeats star Tiwa Savage has highlighted the importance of artists forming strong connections with their fans.
In a recent appearance on the ‘Shopping The Sneakers’ podcast, Savage shared that when artists foster relationships with their audience, fans are able to relate to other aspects of their lives beyond just music.
She pointed out that her peers, Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy, are gaining popularity due to their strong connections with their fans.
“It’s not only about the music; it’s about your fanbase and your brand. You need to consider your fashion and be relatable. Many artists focus solely on releasing music but fail to truly connect with their fans.”
“I believe it’s crucial to connect with your fans. If you look at Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy, they’ve built strong relationships with their fanbases. People admire their lifestyles. Whether or not they release new music, they remain relevant in the conversation. So, building a loyal fanbase is vital. Your strength is only as good as your team,” she explained.
