Ace comedian Chibuike Josh Alfred, widely known as Josh2Funny, has addressed the competitive landscape in Nigeria’s comedy and content-creating scene.
He criticized those who downplay the level of competition, suggesting they are being disingenuous.
Despite this, Josh2Funny asserted that he has no competition in the comedy industry, noting that his skits are translated into foreign languages across Europe and Asia.
He also criticized some of his peers for copying his trends and styles without giving him credit. Speaking on ‘The Honest Bunch’ podcast, he said, “I won’t tolerate people copying what I started without acknowledging me. I won’t accept that.
“Don’t let anyone tell you that there’s no competition in the comedy industry. There is competition…”
“At this moment, my comedy is translated into Mandarin, Hindi, Russian, French, and other languages. I’m not on the same level as others in this comedy industry. I’m not their mates.”
