Afrobeats singer Tiwa Savage has stated that poverty is the reason behind the large number of entertainers emerging from Nigeria.
She noted that the challenges faced in the country are pushing young people to discover and develop their talents.
During the ‘Shopping The Sneakers’ podcast, Savage described life in Nigeria as tough.
She explained, “When you visit Nigeria, you’ll understand why we produce so many superstars. Surviving in Nigeria is incredibly tough, and that’s why the artists who emerge from here are like hustlers—they’re constantly striving.”
Nigeria boasts the largest movie, music, comedy, and fashion industries in Africa.
Nollywood is the second-largest film industry globally.
