Music executive Ubi Franklin has clarified that he is not Davido’s personal assistant or nanny, as some have mistakenly described him.
He made this clarification in response to an X user’s comment that labeled him as Davido and his wife’s personal assistant.
Ubi explained that he serves as a business administrator and noted that the Afrobeats star refers to him as a “solutionist.”
Let me make this clear,” Ubi Franklin began. “Davido is Africa’s biggest artist and the owner of DMW. It’s easy to judge from the outside, but Davido’s setup and brand are ones anyone would be proud to work for. If you look closely, he is more influential than many state governors you admire; the only thing he lacks is a government budget.”
He went on to explain, “I am the CEO of @mademenmusicg, and if you see me working with Davido, it’s because I have the qualifications and experience to be a business administrator. Davido calls me #thesolutionist, and you can interpret that however you like. I am definitely not his personal assistant or nanny, as some of you have tried to suggest. If that makes you happy, so be it.”
“It’s worth noting that on March 30, 2022, Nigerian artist Timaya referred to Ubi as Davido’s employed nanny in a tweet. Later, in October 2023, while they were on a jet together, Davido humorously teased Ubi by calling him a nanny.”
