If Everyone Sang Gospel Music, our World Would Become Boring, Says Laolu Gbenjo

Gospel artist Laolu Gbenjo expressed his views on the importance of musical diversity, saying that if everyone solely performed gospel music, the world would be dull.

In an interview on Channels Television’s The Morning Brief, he highlighted the need for variety in music, using examples like love songs for weddings and praise songs for celebrations to show how different events require different kinds of music.

If everyone sang gospel, the world would be boring, and that’s the truth. At a wedding, for example, you wouldn’t expect only gospel music; there are love songs and celebratory praise for such occasions,” Gbenjo remarked.

He also talked about how the COVID-19 lockdown motivated him to create a new music niche called Alujo Special.

During the lockdown, he started creating personalized songs in his studio for individuals who sent in their photos.

He also disclosed that his singing career began with the influence of his father, who was a pastor.

“He also added that he started singing because his father was a pastor”, he stated.
